not just a real estate agent but a person who will provide you with sound, honest and thoughtful advice and assistance
I recently had a dear friend pass away and I was left with the responsibility and honor of being the personal representative for the estate. In addition to marshaling assets and securities and settling all bills and accounts, I was also required to sell my friend’s condominium. This is when I was first fortunate enough to come in contact with Barbara Canada, a real estate agent with Keller Williams Realty.
For those of you who might not be aware, in the probate process your name and address are immediately available to the general public and there are a number of people actively searching these files daily to look into providing you with information on the purchase/sale of your inherited property. Most of the letters and calls you will receive are the same. Barbara’s was different. Low key and forthright. I was pleasantly surprised with a package I received from her with detailed information about sales in my area, in the building itself, and things that might assist me in the upcoming sales process. When I was ready I interview several Realtors and met with a few. Barbara came ready to help.
I had lot to do and unfortunately had some personal business that was taking me out of the country on two occasions. No worries. Barbara secured a company to clear the belongings from the condo, separated what could be donated from what had to be disposed of, found a shredding service that would pickup boxes of documents, and took care of hiring cleaning and other services necessary to prepare the condo for sale. Additionally, she coordinated all of the comings and goings of these individuals with the condominium association so that I did not need to be involved at all. I might also add that all of the movers, cleaners, and other necessary service personnel where hired at a reasonable price and well within cost expectations one might have for the work performed.
On our first weekend after putting the condo on the market we had several visitors and by the second week we had a sale – full asking price.
During the closing Barbara was there with me walking me through the process just as she has since the day I met her. I wish I could say the whole thing went smoothly from start to finish but, like anything in life, we had a few bumps along the way. Luckily, I had Barbara Canada there to smooth out the bumps and keep things on track.
I was very pleased with Ms. Canada’s performance throughout this process and would highly recommend her to anyone in need of not just a real estate agent but a person who will provide you with sound, honest and thoughtful advice and assistance as you go through your own process of selling your home.
